Barry has held the position of Director, Property Services Division at the University of Otago since late 2001. In this role he has responsibility for the delivery of the planning, development, operation, maintenance of all University-owned or leased buildings, grounds and utilities, and the provision of all associated custodial services.
Barry is a carpenter by trade, a facilities manager by profession, and a general manager by choice. He holds Trade Certificate & Advanced Trade Certificate (Carpentry) and New Zealand Certificate of Building (NZCB), is a member of BOINZ, The Property Council of New Zealand and is Vice-President of the Tertiary Facilities Management Association of Australasia (TEFMA).

Margaret is the main contact for the Director of Property Services and is the first point of contact for enquiries to the divisional office. She arranges all meetings for the Director and Senior Management Team within Property Services and plays a pivotal role in ensuring divisional activities and tasks are run sucessfully and to timetable. With her vast knowledge of the University network, she manages or delegates the required tasks and administrative functions for the divisional office, ensuring appropriate levels of support are provided to the Director and staff, and that specific deadlines are met.

Dave works to ensure each member of the Division, as well as outside contractors, understands and complies with the University's health and safety systems. These include:
- the Health and Safety in Employment Act (1992)
- the HSE Amendment Act (2002)
- the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms (HSNO) (1996)
With extensive experience both here in NZ and in the UK in the construction, building maintenance, mining and water industries, Dave is well-equipped to deal with any health and safety issue.

Strategy & Planning Manager

As the Strategy & Planning Manager, Sue Larkins is in charge of the University's planning processes including the Campus Master Plan and the Space Plan, and ensures that these plans comply with the University's overall strategic direction. She makes sure the University's planning, development and design policies are put into action, with an eye to maintaining the special character of Otago's diverse campuses and centres.
Prior to joining the University Property Services Division, Sue was the Manager of Opus Architecture in Dunedin, and has been a Project Architect for the Architecture and Urban Design Department of the Dunedin City Council. In these capacities she has been involved in a both institutional and commercial architecture and urban design projects.
Sue has a passion for Heritage Buildings and beautiful environments.

Murray Gray's main role is to ensure that the University's property portfolio is effectively and efficiently planned, developed and managed for both current and future needs. Murray's two-person team includes highly-experienced Property Manager Jason Steed, and Space Planner Diana Reid.
A registered Property Valuer and Chartered Accountant, Murray brings a wide range of professional experience to Property Services including over seven years with the University's Financial Services Division, and many years as a valuer of businesses and specialised assets including water, sewerage and road networks, hospitals, hotels, airports and golf resorts. He holds a double BComm in Accounting, and in Valuation & Property Management from the University of Canterbury.
